We fished with Alex and his gang and caught 58 yellow tails, 4 mangrove snapper, 1 king mackerel, 1 shark, and a mahi mahi which we caught under a strange floats some in 60 feet of water which seemed to have a rope dangling below dragging something along the bottom.

We fished with Jr. and the gang and caught a whole bunch of bait before headed of shore for dolphin fish. On the way out we ran into a pod of porpoise and took pictures before heading in as one of the guys got sick and called it a day before it began. We also saw a free jumping sail which didnt want to eat any of our baits.

June 13, 2012.

Today we fished with Aldo from Arkansas and his race horse breeder friends from Texas. We ran offshore looking for dolphin fish only finding a huge pod of porpoises. We then ran to the wrecks where we picked up 3 mutton snappers. We called it a day due to the heat and lack of fish and returned at night for tarpon. At night we Aldo did battle with a 170 lb. tarpon for close to 2 hours taking us in government cut channel, around numerous channel markers with many close calls, over the rock jetty back to the beach where we finally released the big girl boat side.

This evening we fished with Mathew llorente and his in laws from South America for yellow tail snapper. With no current and a slight NE wind we manged to catch over 3 dozen big yellow tails, 12 mangroves to 4 Lbs., 3 king fish, bunch of jacks, squirrel fish, grunts, and a remora.

During the evening Rodolfo again joined us for a session of tarpon fishing. We caught two tarpons fighting each for 45 min all around south beach and fed 2 sharks and a big barracuda.

This evening Orlando and company joined us for some table fair fishing. Strong N current had us fishing shallow where we caught 4 dozen yellow tail and 1 mangrove keeping there limit of 30 snappers.

Armando from Arkansas joined me for some offshore fishing in the Florida keys. Fish were scares but we managed to pull in 3 dolphin fish (losing a big one), 2 tunas, a triple tail, a bird which flew into the lines on the troll. To add excitement on the way in we ran past 3 water spouts and had a 7 foot barracuda eat all our fish carcasses.

This evening Joey, his Father Jose, and company joined us for some tarpon fishing. We hooked and fought 6 tarpon between the 80 to 130 lb after having a few drinks and oyster from the raw bar at Monty’s.

This evening we fished with Carlos, Tato, Omar and caught over 5 dozen yellow tail keeping only enough to eat. We also caught 2 mackerels, a bonito, small jacks, trigerfish, and baited a free jumping sail on the shallow reef chasing ballyhoo which never ate our baits.

May 17, 2012.

Today we fished with Miguel and company. We started of the day in search of dolphin fish by running 18 miles out and only finding a Cuban refuge make shift float some covered in bait with no mahis. In search of action we headed to the wrecks and picked up a nice mutton snapper, Yellow eye snapper, and a mangrove which we played tug of war with a 6 foot cuda next to the boat. After losing a few fish we headed to a reef and snorkeled and saw a nice grouper that stayed out of range. Then we ended the day anchored on a ledge and caught yellow tail snappers, mackerel, bonitos, and a remora.

this evening we fished with Renier, Roxy and there to kids. With tough fishing we managed to pull in 3 sails, Kingfish, Red Grouper and lost alot of quality fish.

Today we fished with Jose and Wancho and by noon we had caught 2 sailfish, a nice red grouper, blackfin tuna, 3 mahi mahi to 33lb.s, bonitos, and a big hound-fish.

Tonight we fished with Alfanso and son Reynaldo with snappers in mind again. Over the course of the evening we caught a few dozen yellow tail in the 16 to 18 inch range.
